Here you will journey through topics of geometry - from angles, to triangles, to polygons, and more. Several graphics and performance enhancements were made to this release (which is one of the major reasons for its delay from v1.3), and we are still working on improvements to making your mathematical journey more enjoyable and to give more resources for your learning enhancement. As we depart from the Variata Shorelines with the Pre-Algebra and Algebra I behind us, we now move towards the east. This patch introduces the first of two paths that the traveler can embark on once they complete the challenges in Variata City, the second of which will be introduced in the next patch. This patch carries us east of Variata Forest to a fishing village, which introduces the traveler to concepts in basic probability theory, introduces them to functions and some of their properties, and gives a preview of the area that will continue the Algebra 2 arc in upcoming patches. In addition, this patch introduces the third and fourth paths of Tally Lighthouse - Eastern Arabic and Mayan; the last two paths and the top of the lighthouse being released in the following patch. This content release also introduces basic crafting components, so travelers can combine items to create new items. In addition, several updates have been made to performance and submap design quality, with many more on the way!

This patch finishes the Variata Shores' main storyline — which now runs through The Emporium — and opens the hall itself as a study and practice tool. Activities at The Emporium don't use energy points, making them ideal "downtime" content between lessons and attempts to fully star-clear content. The road ahead has angles the shoreline never did, and unknowns stacked deeper than before; hope to see you there!

Side Story Questline Content

  • New mini-games (T-Cubed and Concord) both are replayable in The Emporium, both of which have single-player modes associated with them with multiplayer coming in future patches.

Lessons & Curriculum

  • New lessons/topics (8) added to the Tally Lighthouse sequence (Han and Roman).

Items & Economy

  • New currency added. This currency can be obtained at The Emporium and can be spent at the Records House for rewards.

The map runs past the edge of the known world. Distant Shores opens two new regions. First the Variata Shipyards, where the boats are built, and then the Cairns, the first two islands of the Statistica Archipelago beyond the water. New lessons carry you from the shipyard floor out into the work of reading data and charts, with fresh challenges, new things to earn, and a few quieter additions waiting to be found. Set a course.

  • Answer-choices interface updated for problem rounds/checkpoints.
  • Graphical updates to submaps across different epoch phases.

Miscellaneous

  • Lesson-round timer hard ceiling removed to allow some lessons to have a time ceiling differ than others. The pre-round description has been changed accordingly.
  • Infinite-energy-glitch fixed on 'Play Again' loop-hole.
  • Overworld map adjustments for mobile players.
  • Navigation bar wrapping issues fixed for mobile players with a more-narrower window range.
